Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong has once again reiterated that the residents of Harijan Colony in Shillong have to be relocated at any cost.
Addressing the media Prestone said there is no other option but relocation. The Deputy Chief Minister also informed he will call a meeting between the Harijan Panchayat Committee and the government once the blueprint is ready.
Prestone also informed that the Urban Affairs Department has been asked to prepare the blueprint for the relocation showing all possible locations apart from the TB Hospital area.
Tynsong added he will have to respect the sentiments of the local authority and try their best to adjust accordingly so that both sides are happy.
Earlier the Dorbar Shnong of Mawbah had met him to convey their stiff opposition to the shifting of the Harijan Colony residents to the TB Hospital premises.
The review meeting was attended by Chief Ministers of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Tripura.
