Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi hoisted the national flag at the College of Veterinary Science playground at Khanapara in Guwahati on the occasion of 72nd Republic Day.
Governor Mukhi unfurled the tricolor in the presence of chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal.
Governor Mukhi inspected the parade and addressed the gathering on the occasion.
On the other hand, chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal presented the Republic Day Journalism Award, 2021 to eminent journalist Atin Das for his contribution to the field.
Earlier in the morning, CM Sonowal paid floral tributes to the martyrs of the country at Shraddhanjali Kanan in the city.
