In a first, two political parties from the region, the Assam Jatiya Parishad and the Citizen Action Party of Sikkim, came together in Guwahati and explored possibilities of forming a united front to address the socio-economic and political issues of their respective states. The two parties met in Guwahati today, and pledged to work collaboratively on key areas such as protection of indigenous rights, political cooperation, sustainable development, socio-economic empowerment, and cultural preservation. This historic meeting marks a significant step towards fostering unity and cooperation among regional political parties across the Northeastern states.
