Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, in a post on X, praised the efforts of the Kangpokpi District Administration for organising recreational activities to uplift the spirits of children in relief camps.
With over 1,610 children from 34 relief camps participating so far, the initiative aims to nurture their creative energy and provide a sense of normalcy amidst challenging times. Activities include fun sessions in parks, engaging games within camps, and sports like football and volleyball. Additionally, the children are being provided with recreational materials such as carrom boards and badminton equipment.
“Every child is unique and deserves a nurturing environment to channel their creative spirit and energy. The district administration of Kangpokpi has been commendable in their efforts, covering a total of 1,610 children from 34 relief camps so far,” the Chief Minister wrote, commending the administration’s commitment to fostering positivity and hope.
These efforts underscore the importance of emotional well-being and resilience, especially for children facing adversity. Since May 3, 2023, more than 60,000 people have been displaced and are living in various relief camps and prefabricated houses.
To bring joy and recreation to children in these challenging circumstances, the government has been organising such initiatives regularly. Earlier, children from relief camps in the Valley were taken to Thengu Chingjin Water Park for a day of fun and relaxation. These activities aim to provide a sense of normalcy and happiness, offering much-needed relief to young minds amidst the turmoil.
