The water level of the Siang river has risen drastically in the recent past, raising concerns among locals.

Along with the the water level, the river’s current has also got stronger with large waves being recorded.

Such dangerous scenario has raised concerns among the people of upper Assam where it is being touted as the advent of a calamity.

The local people feel that such drastic changes in the river may spell disaster for Assam and Arunachal and hence appealed to the Central government to look into the matter.
