In Assam, BJP candidates Ramkrishna Ghosh and Sibu Mishra on Friday filed their nomination for Hojai and Lumding assembly seats respectively.
Accompanied by State Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma along with BJP national general secretary Dilip Saikia, the candidates submitted their nomination papers after taking part in a road show.
Ghosh and Mishra filed their papers on the last day of nomination. The nomination filing process witnessed huge procession with the party exhibiting massive show of strength.
In the second phase, 39 constituencies will go to polls on April 1.
The scrutiny of nomination papers will be conducted on March 15. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is March 17.
The three-phased election in Assam will begin on March 27 and conclude on April 6.
The review meeting was attended by Chief Ministers of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Tripura.
