In a tragic accident, 2 persons died on spot, while leaving one person seriously injured after the car they were travelling in was hit by a New Delhi bound Rajdhani Express at a manned level crossing in Chabua of Dibrugarh late yesterday night.

The deceased have been identified as Bimal Sarma and his son Arnav Garg Sarma. According to reports, Bimal Sarmah’s wife, Deepa Sarmah has been admitted to AMCH Dibrugarh in serious condition.

The ill fated family had gone to Jorhat on Sunday mo rning for their youngest son Arnab’s ring ceremony. While returning back, their car was hit by the train at the rail crossing just near Kundan Dhaba.

Meanwhile, eyewitnesses allege that the railway gate-man was drunk while on duty and forgot to close the gate when the train was approaching.
