Sikkim has taken a significant step towards digital connectivity with the inauguration of its first Free Wi-Fi Village at Rabdang.
On Tuesday, Minister Nar Bahadur Dahal inaugurated the service in Rabdang ward, part of the 17-Khamdong-Singtam constituency. The village, located 40 km from Gangtok and 10 km from Singtam, is home to 72 households with a population of around 500 people.
By providing seamless internet access, this initiative aims to bridge the digital divide and create new opportunities for residents. Sikkim, known for its natural beauty, is the least populous and the second-smallest state in India, and this move marks a significant leap forward in digital inclusion for the region.
By launching such initiatives, Sikkim continues to enhance its digital infrastructure, bringing modern amenities to rural areas and ensuring inclusive growth for its people.
