The 24-hour proposed shutdown in valley districts of Manipur today has been called off after an ardent appeal made by Chief Minister N Biren Singh, in view of the Higher Secondary exams which began today.

“I extend my best wishes to all the students appearing for the class 12th exminations amid the ongoing unrest. I appeal to all not to hold any form of one block it which can hamper the education of the students. I urged all to let the students appear for the exam peacefully,” said CM N Biren Singh.
The Higher Secondary examination conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur (COHSEM) has begun today and will conclude on April 20, 2024.
