Presidential Election: Ballot box from Sikkim leaves for Delhi

The established team left from Sikkim Assembly Secretariat at 6.35 AM, escorted by officials from the Police Department

Ballot Box and other election equipment used during the Presidential Elections in Sikkim were transported to the office of the Returning Officer at Parliament House, New Delhi today.

The Strong Room opened at 6.30 AM today in the presence of Observer M Nagaraju, CEO D Anandan, Secretary, Sikkim Legislative Assembly Secretariat Dr Gopal Pd Dahal, and Assistant Returning Officers for the Presidential Election, in the presence of Security personnel deputed by Sikkim Police.

The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Sikkim, and the Sikkim Legislative Assembly Secretariat have deputed four officers, Lalit Kr Gurung, Assistant Returning Officer, Karma T Gyatso Assistant Returning Officer, Dawa G Sherpa, Deputy Secretary, and Barun Dahal, Deputy Secretary, to submit the designated ballot boxes and other election materials for the Presidential Election.

The established team left from Sikkim Assembly Secretariat at 6.35 AM, escorted by officials from the Police Department for the onward journey to the Parliament House, New Delhi.

The counting of votes is scheduled for July 21, 2022.
