President Droupadi Murmu to Attend Srimanta Sankardeva Award Ceremony in Guwahati

The Srimanta Sankardeva Award is one of Assam's most prestigious honours, recognising significant contributions in the different fields.

President Droupadi Murmu is set to visit Guwahati in April 2025 to attend the Srimanta Sankardeva Award ceremony. The announcement came after Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma personally invited the President to grace the occasion during a meeting on Saturday.

Sharing the update on social media platform X, the Chief Minister wrote, “I had the privilege of calling upon Hon’ble Rashtrapati Smt. Droupadi Murmu Ji. I am deeply grateful to the Hon’ble President for graciously accepting our invitation to visit our state and confer the Srimanta Sankardeva Award in April 2025. Her valuable time and guidance are truly appreciated.”

The Srimanta Sankardeva Award is one of Assam’s most prestigious honours, recognising significant contributions in the fields of culture, art, and social service.
