The BJP has expelled Pradip Dutta Roy, the founder president of Cachar, Karimganj, Hailakandi Students Union, from the primary membership of BJP for threatening the students of Assam University in Silchar and warning them not to protest against the Citizenship Bill.

At a time when the entire state of Assam is on the boil over the Citizenship Amendment Bill, Roy’s recent remark had sparked a major controversy, where he threatened the students of Assam University who have been protesting against the Citizenship Bill.

Roy, while cautioning the students of the University from protesting against the Bill said that they should stay away from politics.
