Police seize 1359 kg of marijuana worth Rs 1 crores in Tripura

In continuation of the war against illicit drug trafficking in the state, North Tripura Police has seized 1359 kg of marijuana worth around Rs 1 crore from an oil tanker

In continuation of the war against illicit drug trafficking in the state, North Tripura Police has seized 1359 kg of marijuana worth around Rs 1 crore from an oil tanker near the Assam border on Thursday night.

Police have arrested 3 persons in this regard who were trying to smuggle the cannabis out of the state. The seized cannabis weighed a total of 1359 Kilograms and was concealed in 99 packets.

As per the reports, in the last six months more than 20,000 kg of marijuana has been seized along with a huge quantity of contraband cough syrups, tablets, heroine in Tripura and as many as 65 people have been arrested in connection to drug peddling.
