Even as the traffic constable involved in the assault of a civilian in Guwahati has been suspended, there is no news of any action on the other police personnel who assaulted the man out in the open on a busy road. While traffic constable Fakruddin Ahmed has been suspended for assaulting the man, at least four to five other police personnel are also seen in the video of the assault where a few of them can also be seen assaulting the man along with Ahmed.
The police department still seems to be in limbo when it is coming to identify the other police personnel and take action against them. In fact the police department is yet to identify them and take action against them.
Apart from Ahmed, the Patlan Bazar area’s traffic police in charge Pranab Deka has been kept in reserved clause over the incident and may face suspension as well. The sensational video went viral where a group of police personnel assaulted the person identified as Biki Gupta while he was seated on a motorcycle with his wife and child.
