Suspected petrol bomb hurled at Meghalaya Dy CM Dhar’s residence

DCM Sniawbhalang Dhar has filed an FIR at and police have begun investigation into the incident

A suspected petrol bomb was hurled at the residence of Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar’s residence in Nongmynsong area of Shillong.

As per inputs, unknown miscreants hurled the suspected petrol bomb from the street. The explosive landed on the balcony of the Deputy CM’s residence. There are no reports of any injuries to anyone so far. Dhar has lodged an FIR about the incident.

East Khasi Hills SP Rituraj Ravi said that security of VIPs have been beefed up and investigation into the incident has begun.

It may be mentioend here that earlier on Wednesday, a petrol bomb was lobbed at an escort vehicle of Director Personnel, NEEPCO Maj General RK Jha.

Another petrol bomb was hurled at the Mawlai police station over a couple of weeks ago.

Meghalaya police is on alert, the SP said.
