Janta Mela, which is the ruling Sikkim Democratic Front led Government’s popular flagship event, began on Wednesday at Paljor Stadium in Gangtok.
With state elections just couple of months away, Chief Minister Pawan Chamling has got into the election mode and is leaving no stone unturned to woo the voters.
Chief Minister Pawan Chamling attended the event, where he distributed tokens and other utilities such as stoves, LPG cylinders, roof sheets, pressure Cookers, laptops and construction coupons under the Chief Minister’s Rural Housing mission for the people of the Sikkim.
Significantly, this mela comes only few days after the chief minister launched the ambitious ‘One Family, One Job’ scheme, which envisions employment to a member of every family which does not have a government job, during the Rojgar Mela held last week.
