Amid reports of United Democratic Party (UDP) leaders in Meghalaya holding meetings with Minister and National People’s Party (NPP) leader Ampareen Lyngdoh, Minister and UDP working president, Paul Lyngdoh said that such actions by political leaders helps the party to “filter and spot reliable party members”.
Speaking to media, Paul Lyngdoh said, “It helps us to filter and see through the characters of each person involved. During parliamentary elections, when people switch sides, you are able to see their true colours. It helps us to identify who we should rely on and who just change colours in the blink of an eye for personal gains.”
According to reports, some UDP leaders from Nongpoh constituency recently had a meeting with Ampareen Lyngdoh who is seeking support for the Lok Sabha elections.
