Parthiv Patel announces retirement from all forms of cricket

Former India wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel, who made his international debut at the age of 19, has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Parthiv Patel today took to Twitter to announce his retirement from all forms of cricket.

Patel made his international debut at the age of 19 in an away Test series against England in 2002 and went on to represent India in 25 matches in the longest format, scoring 934 runs at an average of 31.13.

He also played 38 ODIs and two Twenty20. Worth mentioning, Patel finished with 25 Tests, 38 ODIs and two T20Is, his last international appearance coming in India’s famous Test win in Johannesburg in January 2018.

A year later, he was also part of the squad when India won a Test series in Australia for the first time in their history.
