The one-man Judicial Enquiry Commission headed by Justice N.K. Jain, former Chief Justice of the High Court of Sikkim probing the death case of Sikkim student leader Padam Gurung will hold the next hearing from 21 to 25 August.
The Commission today issued summons to 14 witnesses to appear before the Commission and record their statement or any documentary evidence(s).
The judicial inquiry into the death case of late Padam Gurung started on June 26, and so far the Commission has recorded statements of 35 witnesses in its first sitting held from July 25 to July 28.
The one-man judicial inquiry committee constituted by the Sikkim Government on July 12, would submit its report in a month’s time.
As the clamour for justice for student leader Padam Gurung is getting louder in Sikkim with every passing day, the All Sikkim Gurung Tamu Buddhist Association (ASGTBA ) has recently submitted a memorandum of points for consideration by the Judicial Enquiry Commission while investigating the case stating the points mentioned in the memorandum are very vital for the proper enquiry of the case.
