Amid all speculations of an alliance between the major parties for the forthcoming Assam Legislative Assembly elections, All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief Badruddin Ajmal on Wednesday said that all the newly formed political parties will be forced to join the ‘gathbandhan’.

Speaking to media persons, Ajmal said that the Axom Jatiya Parishad and Raijor Dol will be forced to join the ‘gathbandhan’ after the assembly elections.

Predicting that both the parties would not get more than 5 seats each, Badruddin Ajmal said that it would be impossible for them to form the government under such circumstances.

“I am confident that our alliance (gathbandhan) will definitely form the government. The newly formed political parties Axom Jatiya Parishad and Raijor Dal will be forced to join the ‘gathbandhan’ after the assembly elections. I think that both the parties will not get more than 5 seats each,” the AIUDF chief said.

Ajmal said, at such a juncture the AJP and Raijor Dol will have only the sole option of either joining the BJP-led coalition or the ‘gathbandhan’.
