One year of Manipur violence: Shutdown in valley, IDPs stage sit-in-protest

Shops, Offices, Markets and Banks remained closed today as people voluntarily observed shutdown in the valley. Internally Displaced Persons took part in sit-in-protest across the Valley Districts, demanding the Government to bring an end to the violence, seeking its intervention in resolving the crisis. Meanwhile the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity or COCOMI organized a public gathering at Iboyaima Sumang Leela Sanglen in Imphal to take a joint decision with people who are directly and indirectly affected by the violence.
