One person from Cachar district tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, taking the total number of cases in Assam to 45.
Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, “Alert ~ One person from Cachar dist has tested positive for #COVID19. Total #COVID19 patients in Assam now stands at 45 (Active cases 10, Discharged 34, Death 1).
Of the total 45 positive cases, 10 cases are active with one death and 34 have been discharged from hospital after being cured.
Earlier, two persons including one with travel history to West Bengal, had tested positive in Kokrajhar and another in Goalpara on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, two patients, including the first to test COVID-19 positive in the state, were discharged from hospital on Wednesday.
