One more test positive for COVID-19 in Assam; state tally reaches 27

One more positive COVID-19 case has been detected in Assam on Tuesday taking the total tally in the state to 27. The latest case is reported from the state’s Dhubri

One more positive COVID-19 case has been detected in Assam on Tuesday taking the total tally in the state to 27.

The latest case is reported from the state’s Dhubri district. The person had attended the Tablighi Jamaat event that took place at Nizamuddin Basti in Delhi.

This was confirmed by Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma who shared the news on social media.

Taking to Twitter Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma announced, “One more Covid19 positive case from Dhubri District has been confirmed, taking the total number in Assam to 27. This patient is related to Nizamuddin Markaz event in Delhi.”

The latest addition to the COVID-19 positive case tally of Assam makes 26 cases related to the Tablighi Jamaat event in Delhi.

Only case from Guwahati’s Spanish Garden apartment is not related to the Delhi event.
