A blast rocked Laitumkhrah market area in Shillong, Meghalaya at around 01:30 pm on Tuesday. Reportedly, one person has been injured in the incident.
The injured person, who owns a tea stall in the locality, has been taken to the Nazareth Hospital.
As per eyewitnesses, they heard a loud explosion and the intensity of the blast rattled houses nearby shattering window panes.
Following the incident, East Shillong MLA Ampareen Lyngdoh visited the blast site to take stock of the situation.
Refusing to comment, Lyngdoh said she cannot give any details regarding the incident and is awaiting police report.
