NRC issue: 7-member TMC delegation stopped at Silchar airport

The 7-member Trinamool Congress delegation comprising 6 MP’s and 1 minister has landed at the Silchar airport. The delegation is still inside the airport and in all probability will not
The 7-member Trinamool Congress delegation comprising 6 MP’s and 1 minister has landed at the Silchar airport.
The delegation is still inside the airport and in all probability will not be allowed to move out of the airport as section 144 has been clamped in the entire district.
The Deputy Commissioner and the district SP along with Additional DGP and five magistrates are inside the airport following the arrival of the TMC delegation.
The TMC delegation has landed at the Silchar airport where the district administration authorities are in a discussion with them.
Meanwhile, heavy security deployment has also been put in place in Silchar. The visit of the TMC delegation comes in the wake of the release of the final draft NRC.
Meanwhile, security has been beefed up in Silchar and adjoining areas, keeping in view TMC delegation’s visit to the town.
Moreover, Section 144 CRPC has been clamped in Silchar. The move comes just hours before the Trimamool delegations visit to the Barak Valley.
