Manipur conducted a check on the influx of illegal immigrants. Jiribam district police conducted verification at the railway station where the passenger train arrives every Friday.

52 persons including 10 women and 10 children were found travelling without valid ID and travelling tickets.

On being interrogated, most of them claimed to have come for sightseeing at Jiribam and Vangaichungpao.

As there is a possibility of entering into the state in the name of sightseeing and apprehension of staying back remains, the district police have pushed them out of the border.

Reports suggest that the passengers neither intimated the railway authority nor they have obtained proper permission from the state and district administration.
