Manipur Elections 2022: NPF to formally Kick-off campaign today at Senapati

The Naga People’s Front (NPF) is all set to formally kick off their campaign in Manipur today. The NPF, along with its top leadership, will be kicking off their campaign in Senapati district with some of the NPF’s top leadership attending it.

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will also be part of the event, which will include UDA chairman T.R. Zeliang. Apart from them, NPF general secretary Achumbemo Kikon and NPF’s Manipur unit president, Awangbow Newmai, will also be attending it, along with prominent NPF leaders from Manipur.

The event, which is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. today, is significant as it will be the NPF’s big attempt to make a dent in the hill districts of Manipur where the Naga tribes make up a sizeable chunk of voters.

The NPF is looking to make good in districts like Ukhrul, Senapati, Churachandpur, and other hill districts where Naga tribes reside in large numbers.
