A good news for a chocolate lover as the remote village of Daragiri-Kacharipara in Assam’s Goalpara has gained popularity as the Chocolate Village.
In a first of its kind move, the village has become famous as the only chocolate village in the entire northeast.
And what makes the village so special is that the district administration for the very first time launched a mega plantation drive of cocoa seeds in the village.
It is learnt that cocoa plantation will be done in 72 acres of land belonging to 77 families.
The task will be carried out with full cooperation with the district administration.
The move is aimed at expanding home grown chocolates across Assam, as well as Northeast region.
