TIPRA Motha chief Pradyot Kishore Debbarma has categorically ruled out the possibility of any alliance with the BJP in future.

The reaction by the TIPRA Motha chief comes following the statement made by tribal rights activist and Tripura People’s Front chief Patal Kanya Jamatia, who after joining the BJP on Sunday said that some leaders are misguiding the indigenous section of people in the name of ‘Greater Tipraland’.

TIPRA Motha chairman Pradyot Kishore Debbarma said that after such statements he doesn’t think there is a possibility of any alliance with the BJP in the future.

Debbarma said that if the BJP is such a strong party in they should contest in all the 60 seats in the next assembly election in the State.

Claiming that Tipra Motha is a small regional party, he said that Tipra Motha would contest in 30-35 seats to see who emerged victorious in the end.

Taking a jibe on the BJP, Debbarman said “arrogance is the reason behind the downfall of the high and mighty.”

He further added that Tipra Motha would not compromise and that the party would give a fitting answer to the BJP on the ground.

It may be mentioned that Tripura is slated to go to the polls early next year.
