In a big boost to infrastructure development in Assam, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highway, Nitin Gadkari today inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of 4 National Highway projects worth over Rs 1,450 crore in the presence of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Among the inaugurated projects are –the 18 Km long 4-Lane Section between Nagaon Bypass-Teliagaon built at an estimated cost of Rs 247 crore and 4-lane section of 8 Km Teliagaon-Rangagara built at an estimated cost for Rs 156-crore.
Speaking at the event, the Union Minister said that Assam is progressing in the direction of growth and prosperity. The state government helped in obtaining early approvals for things like environmental clearances and land acquisition.
He further said that it is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s direction to give priority to the development of road and infrastructure projects in Assam and the entire northeast.
“Under the leadership of PM Modi, our commitment lies in ensuring exceptional mobility for every commuter, thereby promoting commerce and driving economic activities in Assam through the development of world-class highways at the fastest speed without compromising on quality,” he added.
