Neeraj Chopra has won Gold in the men’s javelin throw event at the Tokyo Olympics, becoming the first Indian athlete to win Gold ever in the games.

Chopra topped the Men’s javelin throw scoreboard with a throw of 87.58 metres.

This is the first gold medal in athletics for India after a span of 100 years.

Chopra is the first Indian in over 120 years, and the first athlete from India, to win an Olympic medal in a track-and-field discipline.
