NDFB leader Ranjan Daimary has been released on bail for 4 weeks ahead of the proposed peace pact to be signed between the Centre and Bodo rebels, which is likely to be signed on January 26.

The NDFB leader who was lodged at the Guwahati Central Jail, left for New Delhi under tight security cover.

According to top sources, the Gauhati High Court considered the appeal made by the Ministry of Home Affairs for Ranjan Daimary’s release for the purpose of signing of peace deal.

Ranjan Daimary was sentenced to life imprisonment over links to the 2008 serial blasts that rocked Guwahati and other parts of Assam.
