A 3-member delegation of the National Commission for Women (NCW) led by its Chief Rekha Sharma has reached Manipur amid the prevailing turmoil in the state.
The delegation landed at Imphal airport this morning and is scheduled to visit Churachandpur today, meet victims of sexual assault and other acts of violence.
The team is also expected to visit relief camps and interact with inmates, sources added.
The arrival of the NCW delegation comes close on the heels of Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) Chief Swati Maliwal’s arrival in the state on Sunday. Maliwal visited Churachandpur yesterday wherein she took stock of the condition of violence affected people.
The review meeting was attended by Chief Ministers of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Tripura.
