The crusade against corruption continues in Assam. A motor vehicle inspector ( MVI ) was arrested in Nagaon under bribery charges.

As per reports, the MVI identified as Hemen Das was arrested along with office assistants Pranav Mahanta and Balwant Kaur for allegedly demanding Rs 35 thousand for conducting a fitness test on the person’s vehicle. The trio was caught red handed accepting the bribe by a team of Nagaon Police.

Following the arrest, the police raided the office of Hemen Das where they found cash worth Rs 2 lakh 9 thousand from his desk. The Nagaon police team also raided the rented house of Hemen Das, where they recovered Rs. 8 lakh, 13 thousand in cash.
