After almost one and a half month of lockdown in the state, Covid-induced restrictions in Nagaland have been eased from today onwards. This is the first phase of unlocking economic and other activities for a period of 10 days.

During this period, shops will be allowed to open on rotational basis. Churches, weddings and funeral services will be permitted with a capacity of 50 people.

Government offices will resume with 50% of staff in attendance. Meanwhile, curfew will remain in force from 7 PM till 5 AM.

The Nagaland government on Monday announced its decision to initiate “Unlock 1” by easing restrictions in the existing lockdown guidelines across the state. The High Powered Committee (HPC) on COVID-19 had decided to relax the curbs in a phased manner.

However, the HPC maintained that the move will prevail for a period of 10 days and would be considered as an observation period following which the future course of action would be decided.

Besides, the HPC also said that COVID-appropriate behaviour must be followed strictly to avoid future lockdowns.
