Nagaland: Two Killed, Two Critically Injured as Bolero Plunges into Gorge in Chümoukedima

Nagaland Accident: The deceased have been identified as Zayiesito Hegen (24) of the Zeliang tribe and Akamu N Shohe (24) of the Sumi tribe.
In a tragic accident, two individuals lost their lives while two others sustained severe injuries after their Bolero vehicle plunged approximately 300 metres into a deep gorge at Tsiesepru, Old Chümoukedima Heritage Village in Nagaland. The incident occurred around 12:30 AM today on the ongoing bypass road.
The deceased have been identified as Zayiesito Hegen (24) of the Zeliang tribe and Akamu N Shohe (24) of the Sumi tribe. The injured are Peter Kihomong (24) of the Yimkhiung tribe and Chingong Phom (25) of the Phom tribe.
According to police, three of the victims were students of Sakus Mission College, Dimapur, while one was from Unity College, Dimapur.
The mishap was reported to the police at around 6:30 AM, following which a rescue operation was launched at 7:00 AM with assistance from residents.
The mortal remains of the deceased have been handed over to their families.
Meanwhile, the injured are undergoing treatment at the Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (Referral Hospital), where their condition is reported as critical.
The cause of the accident is yet to be determined.
