Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) candidate Wangpang Konyak won the Tapi Assembly seat in bypolls held on November 7.
The voting took place in 23 polling stations and the results for the bypoll was declared today.
The bypoll was announced after NDPP MLA Noke Wangnao died on August 28 due to which the seat fell vacant.
Ruling NDPP candidate Wangpang Konyak and Congress nominee Wanglem Konyak were in the fray.
A total of 15,256 electorates including 7,788 men and 7,468 women were eligible to vote in the by-election.
Out of the 23 polling stations, seven were categorised as vulnerable and six as critical.
The bypoll saw a high voter turnout of 96.25 per cent.

The review meeting was attended by Chief Ministers of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Tripura.
