Nagaland: IAF continues operations to douse fire in Dzouku Valley

Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopters continued operations to douse the wildfire in Dzukou valley near Kohima on Monday.

As many as four Mi-17 choppers were deployed to carry out Bambi Bucket operations as fire-fighting operations entered Day 7 in the valley.

A combined team consisting of 59 NDRF personnel, 35 SDRF personnel, 32 personnel of Manipur Fire Service and Manipur Police personnel are also engaged at the wildfire site in the hill ranges of Dzuko in Senapati District.

Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio is also scheduled to conduct an aerial survey of the affected areas on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, fire line cutting exercise was carried out in the affected area on the Nagaland side today.
