Following the failure of the state government to fulfil the demands of NIDA and with the expiry of the state government’s assurance of one year to resolve the issue of superannuation age of doctors, which expires on April 17th, 2022, the NIDA has announced its second phase of agitation in the form of mass casual leave from April 18 to 20, followed by an indefinite cease to work from April 21, 2022.

Addressing the media at the NIDA office at Kohima, the association has accused the state Government of using the Naga Students Federation (NSF) as an excuse not to fulfill the demands of NIDA.

The Association also inform that the Emergency services will remain functional during this 3 days Mass Casual leave and hoped that the Government takes a favourable decision in the next 4 days.

However, if no decision is arrived at before 18th April, the Mass C.L will go ahead and in case of any untoward eventualities the Government will have to bear the responsibility or can shift the blame to those it claims to be opposing NIDA’s demands.

Meanwhile, the Health & Family Welfare Department has issued a notification that no leave will be granted to any medical officers during the proposed mass casual leave.
