Nagaland CM Rio sends relief material, meds to violence-hit Kangpokpi

A huge consignment of relief materials including three trucks full of food grains, and a fully loaded truck of medicine from Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio reached Kangpokpi district of violence-hit Manipur today at around 1:00 pm.

The consignment was received by the District-level Relief Committee formed under the Committee on Tribals Unity, Sadar Hills in the presence of Minister Nemcha Kipgen, and MLA Haokholet Kipgen at Brig. M. Thomas ground Kangpokpi.

The trucks carrying the relief materials was escorted by the Nagaland police.

Chairman of the District-Level Relief Committee, Lunseh Kipgen expressed sincere gratitude to the Chief Minister of Nagaland for extending a huge consignment of relief materials for the Internally Displaced Persons in Kangpokpi district.

He said that the people of Kangpokpi, especially the Internally Displaced Persons, are grateful and happy that the Chief Minister of Nagaland has provided such a huge consignment of food grains and the much needed medicine at this critical juncture.

“I on behalf of the people of Kangpokpi and the Internally Displaced Persons extend my sincere gratitude to the Chief Minister of Nagaland for his love and generosity to the Kuki people by extending a huge consignment of foodgrains and medicines”, he added.

Meanwhile, the Kuki Inpi Manipur, the apex body of the Kuki tribes in Manipur President, Ch. Ajang Khongsai expressed gratitude and acknowledged the kind help of Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio in extending relief aid and medicine consignments to the displaced people at Kangpokpi District.

He said that such humanitarian gesture at a time of crisis like this will always be a heart-warming inspiration.
