The Core Committee on Naga Political issue led by Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio called on peace talks interlocutor AK Mishra in Delhi to press for early resumption of talks with the NSCN-IM.
The 9-member delegation of the Core Committee met the Government of India representative AK Mishra at Nagaland house in New Delhi.
Highly placed sources informed Northeast Live that the meeting lasted for almost two hours and the committee also urged Mishra to expedite the peace process for an early settlement.
The Core Committee stressed that Until and unless the two sides sit across the table once again and sort out the differences, things cannot resolve.
Another source informed, that during the August 24 meeting held between AK Mishra and the NSCN IM, a delegation led by VS.Atem, at Barapani, NSCN IM had conveyed to AK Mishra to arrange a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Meanwhile, The core committee will meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday.
The Core Committee which is playing the role of a facilitator in the Naga peace talks is trying hard to break the deadlock in peace negotiations owing to the NSCN-IM’s firm stand on the separate flag and constitution issue.
