Four Myanmar junta soldiers were reportedly killed after around 10 of them stumbled on a landmine concealed by members of the local resistance force in Khawmawi village on the Myanmar-Mizoram border on Thursday.
The explosion was heard even from Zokhawthar village in Mizoram, hardly 1 kilometre from Khawmawi at around 7.30 am. Another explosion of around 5 bombs was also heard at around 9.20 AM on Thursday.
According to sources, Myanmar army personnel were coming out from their camp at Rihkhawdar Ward No. 2 on the top of the hill in Tiau-Zokhawthar village to undertake shopping, The Tahan Post said, adding that the junta soldiers continued to fire guns and even rocket propelled grenades after the landmine blasts.

However, there was no return fire from the local militia members, and no casualties were reported among the civilians.
Meanwhile, a resident of Zokhawthar village said that they could hear bomb explosions and firing from the village, but could not verify what happened across the border.
