Normal life remains paralysed in Manipur particularly in Imphal as the 48-hour general strike imposed by Manipur University Students’ Union and supported by various student bodies and civil society organizations enters its second day today.
The general strike which commenced on Tuesday midnight was imposed by the MUSU demanding for the removal of Manipur University Vice-Chancellor Prof AP Pandey strongly protesting the brutal force used against the democratically agitating students.
All business and commercial concerns, market places, shopping centre’s, private undertaking offices and educational institutions remain closed with public transport completely off road as of now.
