Tynsong’s comments came in after earlier today Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed the Assam Assembly in a written statement that Mukroh falls within the territory of Assam. CM Sarma also said that the Assam government is reviewing Meghalaya’s claim on Mukroh.
Speaking to the media, the Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister said that the government has made its stand clear time and again that Mukroh falls within the boundary of Meghalaya. Tynsong also said that the statement by the Assam CM comes as a surprise as the second phase of border talks are set to start soon.
