Incidents of moral policing in the region seems to be on the rise.

Just days after a moral policing incident in Manipur’s Imphal district claimed the life of a young entrepreneur, another incident of moral policing has come to the fore in the state of Assam.

The incident has been reported from Assam’s Mangaldoi district where a youth was brutally thrashed by hundreds of people on suspicion of cattle lifting.

The youth identified as Zakir Ali was finally rescued by the police and is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.
