In a major respite to students in Mizoram, students of all classes will now be able to attend physical classes from the new academic session 2022-2023 that will start from April 5, after a careful study of the SOPs.

The decision comes after a meeting of School Education Department officials and teachers’ associations chaired by Education Minister Lalchhandama Ralte today to open all classes from the new session. The Director of School Education will prepare the guidelines for SOP to be followed on the reopening of schools.

Following  suit from other schools that have reopened across India, Ralte said that students have suffered a lot from not being able to attend classes during the last two years.

At the meeting, Ralte acknowledged the difficulty schools have encountered due to the pandemic which has greatly impacted the students.

Meanwhile, the meeting also decided that private schools will now be allowed to charge 100% of the school fees. And, arrangements will be made for students who could not appear for the entirety of their board examinations due to Covid19.
