Mizoram Police Seize Over 8 Kgs of Heroin Worth Rs 2.41 Crore, 3 Arrested

According to police, the first vehicle was traveling from Tlangsam Champhai through Kelkang, Biate, and Keitum.
Mizoram Police’s CID Special Branch carried out a major drug bust on November 26, leading to the seizure of 8.058 kilograms (664 soap cases) of suspected heroin, valued at Rs. 2.41 crore in the local market. The operation, which took place around 1 AM , at Cheuva Hills, Thuampui, Aizawl, resulted in the interception of two vehicles used for transporting the contraband.
According to police, the first vehicle was traveling from Tlangsam Champhai through Kelkang, Biate, and Keitum, while the second vehicle, a pickup van, was stationed in Aizawl awaiting the first vehicle’s arrival. Both vehicles were reportedly used to conceal the illegal substance, which was hidden inside 984 cartons of V-cigarettes and 955 cartons of Win cigarettes.
Police arrested 3 people identified as Lalrohnuna Fanai (33), Tlanghmingthangi (43), and Lalmuanzuala (24), all from Champhai for carrying the illegal substance.
A case has been registered at the Special Narcotic Police Station, and investigations are underway.
