Mizoram police ready for incident-free counting on Dec 3: DGP Anil Shukla

DGP Anil Shukla said that extensive arrangements have been made at the strong rooms and surrounding areas for incident-free counting of votes

Mizoram Police is all set to ensure incident-free counting of votes on December 3, DGP Anil Shukla said on Tuesday.
Speaking to the media, DGP Shukla said that full proof and extensive arrangements have been made at the strong rooms and surrounding areas for incident-free counting of votes.

DGP Anil Shukla said, “The counting of votes for Mizoram assembly elections will take place on December 3, as decided by the Election Commission of India (ECI) in various districts. All the voting machines are securely placed in the strong rooms in various districts. We will be helping out the civil administration with the counting of votes. The Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) is from outside Mizoram and central forces are already here. IRBn and Mizoram armed police have also been deployed. So we will have full proof and arrangements have been made for incident-free counting of votes.”

It may be mentioned here that despite appeals by various parties and organisations, the Election Commission of India has not changed the date for counting of votes.

The election for 40-member Mizoram Legislative Assembly was held on November 7.
