Mizoram Man Assaults Girlfriend, Lands in Jail
A CCTV footage showing a man assaulting a woman has sparked outrage among the citizens in Mizoram. The footage, which went viral late on Sunday evening, led to widespread condemnation. The man in the video was later identified as C. Lalnunfela, who later surrendered at the Kulikawn Police Station in Aizawl the next day. Lalnunfela, a resident of Chanmari West in Aizawl, was charged under Section 74 of the BNS Act, 2024, which carries a minimum sentence of one year and a maximum of five years in jail. The police registered the case suo moto.
