Election Commission of India on Wednesday deputed a high level team of officers to discuss various issues related to ensuing Mizoram Assembly Elections.
The ECI team held a detailed discussion on Tuesday at Aizwal with leaders of All NGO coordination committee, comprising central YMA, Mizoram Senior Citizen Association, Mizoram Women Federation, Mizo Student Association & Mizo Student Union and Mizoram Church leaders committee.
Various issues were discussed at length following which a joint resolution of NGO Coordination Committee signed by Vanlalruata, L Ramdinliana Renthei, Vanlalliana Khiangte, RK Thanga, Saipui and Lalhma-chhuana and submitted to the ECI.
The Commission expressed its concern on the serious developments at Kolasib yesterday.
Election Commission on its part strived to work in a way so that no such incident occurs in future during the entire election process and that the elections are conducted peacfully.
